LVS RATER

Position: Full Time LVS Rater

Reports to: Brokerage Supervisor

Location: Brampton, ON

Shift Details: Sunday – Thursday — > 9 pm – 5 am

Major activities and responsibilities:

• LVS Data Entry
• Customs rating of LVS entries
• Contact internal & external clients to obtain documentation
• Effectively classifies dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with all government agency rules and regulations; computes duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume of merchandise that is imported or exported to foreign countries
• Processes all requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation on all government entries/applications
• Examines clearance invoices, bills of lading and shipping documents to ensure compliance with federal regulations
• Communicates with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status and special handling and delivery processes
• Applies for Import/Export Permits, Certificates of Eligibility
• Responsible for generation of invoices on a daily basis
• May receive and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:

• Secondary School Graduation Diploma
• Two years rating experience in a Customs Brokerage company or a Community College International Trade/Customs course graduate is required
• Proficient Data Entry skills
• Proficient verbal, written & organizational skills
• Able to work effectively under pressure
• Diligent attention to detail
• Motivated to learn and adapt to new assignments
• Applicants will have to complete an in-house assessment of HS Classification codes
